GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst is the precision tier of OpenAI's image models: it renders legible text, follows layered instructions, and edits an existing image while keeping everything you did not name unchanged.

The studio pairs Sunburst with Flare, the fast tier for exploration. Draft on Flare, finish on Sunburst — or send any result straight back in as the reference for the next round.

Every generation is one flat credit cost by resolution: 1K for 10, 2K for 20, 4K for 35. No per-model math, no surprises.

Sunburst is the default because editing precision is where an image tool earns its keep.
